The challenge
Balonne Shire Council was investigating ways to supplement their town's water supply from the Balonne River for ongoing water security.
The challenge they were presented with was the water from the artesian bore was 57 degrees Celsius and needed to be cooled to a suitable temperature before it could be used.
Our solution
The Balonne Shire Council engaged Proterra Group to design, supply, deliver, construct and commission a bore water cooling tower at Dirranbandis water treatment plant so it could be used.
The benefit
The bore water cooling tower effectively cools the water to a constant 30 degrees Celsius, all year round so it can be utilized.
The result
The town of Dirranbandi receives a consistent supply of useable water, even on the hottest days with no risk of change in temperature.
