The Challenge
The Warwick Aerodrome was recently upgraded under a D&C contract to improve their taxiways and taxi lanes. This work was to enable more efficient access and service delivery to new and existing lots/hangers. Unfortunately, throughout the construction, the Southern Downs Regional Council discovered that the design was not compliant with the CASA requirements.
The Solution
Proterra Group was engaged to assess and undertake a re-design of the taxiways that had been constructed and to design an additional new taxiway in accordance with CASA MOS139 standards to enable the completion of the project.

The Benefit
As this project was essentially a rework – with construction scheduled to be completed within the same financial year, the Council required timely delivery and a budget-conscious solution. Proterra worked closely with Council and CASA and ultimately offered a compliant design that would ensure the design could transition to construction as effectively as possible.
The Result
The Southern Downs Regional Council was briefed and consulted throughout the process, to ensure they understood design constraints and construction issues from the beginning. This alliance and collaboration resulted in the delivery of a CASA compliant design, allowing work to get underway quickly.

The project was successfully constructed using this updated design on time and budget.
